Refund Policy

A legal disclaimer

At Ride Away Rentals LLC, we are committed to providing clear and fair policies for all customers. This Refund Policy explains how deposits, payments, cancellations, and refunds are handled. By booking or renting a vehicle, you agree to the terms outlined below.

 

1. Security Deposits

  • All rentals require a security deposit ranging from $200–$1,000, depending on the vehicle.

  • Deposits are typically refunded within 2–15 business days after the vehicle is returned, inspected, and all tolls and violations are reconciled.

  • Deposits may be refunded through the original payment method (Zelle, Cash App) or in cash if picked up in person.

Deposit Deductions

Your deposit may be partially or fully withheld if any of the following occur:

  • Unpaid tolls, tickets, or violations

  • Smoking in the vehicle ($250 smoking fee)

  • Excessive cleaning required (food, debris, odors, etc.)

  • Physical or mechanical damage beyond normal wear and tear

  • Late returns or unauthorized rental extensions

  • Vehicle repossession due to non-payment, policy violations, or failure to return (no deposit refunds are issued in repossession cases)

 

2. Rental Payments

  • All rental fees must be paid in full prior to vehicle release.

  • Rental payments are non-refundable once the rental period has begun.

  • If you choose to return the vehicle earlier than the agreed end date, no refunds or credits will be issued for unused days.

 

3. Cancellations

  • Reservations may be canceled prior to the scheduled pickup time.

  • Cancellations made 72+ hours in advance may receive a full refund of rental fees (minus any processing fees, if applicable).

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of pickup may incur a cancellation fee equal to one day’s rental charge.

  • No-shows or failure to pick up without notice will not be refunded.

 

4. Vehicle Issues or Mechanical Failures

If a vehicle experiences a verified mechanical failure not caused by renter misuse and cannot be replaced, you may be eligible for:

  • A pro-rated refund for unused days, or

  • A replacement vehicle at no extra cost (subject to availability)

Refunds for mechanical issues are determined after inspection and verification by our team.

 

5. Non-Refundable Fees

The following charges are non-refundable under all circumstances:

  • Smoking fees ($250)

  • Cleaning fees for excessive mess or odors

  • Tolls, tickets, or violation charges

  • Administrative or processing fees

  • Unused rental days when the vehicle is returned early

  • Deposits withheld due to repossession or policy violations

  • Unauthorized Drivers

 

6. Processing Time

Refunds are generally processed within 2–15 business days, depending on inspection timelines, toll processing, and payment method. Delays may occur if tolls or violations are still pending.

 

7. Disputes

If you believe a refund or deduction was made in error, you must notify us in writing within 5 business days of receiving the refund statement. We will review your claim and respond promptly.
